Sonshine Choir (ages 4-5)
Director: Beth Spear
Meeting Time: Sunday, 5:00 p.m.

The Sonshine Choir provides an enjoyable experience in music for children ages 4 and 5. This is accomplished
through beginning music activities, rhythm instruments, and the singing of appropriate songs with spiritual texts.

The group sings for worship two or three times per year. The Sonshine Choir also joins with the other children's
choirs in the annual Christmas Pageant.


Music Makers Choir (grades 1-3)
Directors: Anna Hovey and Courtney McCord
Meeting Time: Sunday, 5:00 p.m.

The Music Makers Choir provides the beginning opportunity for music learning and music performance for children grades 1-3. This is accomplished through beginning music reading activities, rhythm instruments, and the singing of appropriate songs with spiritual texts using the appropriate choral methods. The Music Makers Choir contributes to music for worship several times per year. The group also joins the other children's choirs in the annual Christmas Pageant and the Spring musical.


Joyful Noise Choir (grades 4-6)
Directors: Pam Morris
Meeting Time: Sunday, 5:00 p.m.

The Joyful Noise Choir provides the opportunity for advanced music learning and music performance for children grades 4-6. This is accomplished through activities in music reading activities and the singing of appropriate songs with spiritual texts using the appropriate choral methods. The Joyful Noise Choir is a regular contributor to the music for worship. The group also joins the other children's choirs in the annual Christmas Pageant and the Spring musical.


Youth Choir (grades 7-college)
Director: Tom Smith
Assistant Director: Jeremy Pyles
Meeting Time: Sunday, 5:00 p.m.

The Youth Choir provides the opportunity for advanced music learning and music performance for young people grades 7-college. This is accomplished through the singing of appropriate sacred choral literature using the appropriate choral methods. The Youth Choir is a regular contributor to the music for worship. The Youth Choir also takes an annual tour and presents youth musicals from time to time.


East Alabama Children's Choir (Grades 4-8, unchanged voices)
Director: Gayle Smith
Assistant Director: Pam Kenney
Meeting Time: Monday, 4:00-5:15 p.m.

The East Alabama Children's Choir is a broad-based community organization dedicated to choral excellence by providing a unique educational and performance opportunity to boys and girls in the east Alabama area. Through performance-based music education, the choir promotes self-esteem, accomplishment, pride, and strengthens citizenship while contributing a lasting value to the community. The choir is an auditioned group with a tuition requirement and is a community outreach ministry of Providence Baptist Church.


East Alabama Youth Chorale (Grades 9-12)
Director: Tom Smith
Assistant Director: Mary Miller Smith
Meeting Time: Monday, 4:00-5:15 p.m.

The East Alabama Youth Chorale is a broad-based community organization dedicated to choral excellence by providing a unique educational and performance opportunity to the young people in the east Alabama area. This mixed choir performs a variety of music form the choral classics to Broadway. Some of the music includes staging and choreography. The choir is an auditioned group with a tuition requirement and is a community outreach ministry of Providence Baptist Church.


Providence Singers (adults including college)
Director: Tom Smith
Meeting Time: Wednesday (first and third), 7:30 p.m.

The Providence Singers provides the opportunity for advanced music performance for adults including college students. This is accomplished through the singing of sacred choral literature for a smaller ensemble using the appropriate choral methods. The Providence Singers is a regular contributor to the music for worship. The group also joins with the Church Choir on an annual tour. Most members of this ensemble are also members of the Providence Church Choir.


Church Choir (adults including college)

Meeting Time: Wednesday, 6:45 p.m.

The Church Choir provides the opportunity for advanced music performance for adults including college students.

This is accomplished through the singing of appropriate sacred choral literature using the appropriate choral methods. The Church Choir is a regular contributor to the music for worship. The group also joins with the Providence Singers on an annual tour. They also presents special musical events at Christmas and Easter.


Golden Notes Choir (senior adults)
Director: Pam Morris
Meeting Time: Wednesday, 5:00 p.m.

The Golden Notes Choir provides performance opportunities for senior adults. This is accomplished through the singing of appropriate sacred choral literature using the appropriate choral methods. The Golden Notes Choir is a regular contributor to the music for worship. The group participates in the Senior Adult Music Festival and other music events.
